GUJRANWALA: The district administration on Wednesday constituted 10 committees to collect data on seminaries for their registration.

The committees would comprised police, gurdawars and revenue patwaris.

The committee No.1 would cover Kotwali, Garjakh, Baghbanpura, committee No.2 Dhulley and Model Town, committee No.3 Satelite Town, People’s Colony, Jinnah Road and Civil Line, committee No.4 Khiali, Sabzi Mandi, committee No.5 Cantonment, Aroop, committee No.6 Qila Dedar Singh, Ladheywala Warriach, committee No.7 city and Sader areas of Kamoki, committee No.8 Saddar Gujranwala and Ferozewala, committee No.9 Naushera

Virkan, Tetley and Kot Ladha and committee No.10 Wazirabad city and Saddar, Alipur Chattha, Ahmadnagar, Sodara and Ghakkhar Mandi.

DEATH WARRANTS: The local anti-terrorism court No.1 issued on Wednesday death warrant for a condemned prisoner involved in the killing of a police constable and fixed Feb 17 for his execution.

According to the prosecution, Qaiser Mehmood shot dead constable Ali Akbar during an encounter at Motra (Sialkot) on Aug 10, 2011. The local anti-terrorism court had handed down death sentence to him which was upheld by superior courts and his mercy appeal was rejected by the president.

It would be the first execution in central jail after implementation of National Action Plan.

SHOs TRANSFERRED: As many as 44 station house officers (SHOs) of range and city district police who were deployed at their home district for the last 10 years, were transferred by the regional police officer on the orders of Inspector General Police.

A notification to the effect was issued on Wednesday.

Reports said 10 SHOs of Gujranwala district were also transferred to other districts of the division. Those who were transferred are SHO Sodara Inspector Naeem Butt, SHO Alipur Chattha Inspector Muhammad Saleem, SHO Kot Ladha Inspector Muhammad Fiaz, SHO Civil Line Inspector Arif Khan, SHO Satelite Town Inspector Shehbaz Hinjra and SHO Tetley Goher Abas Bhatti, SHO Garjakh Malik Afzal, SHO Saddar Gujranwala Muhammad Gulzar, SHO Model Town Sajid Ali and SHO Ferozewala Faryad Ali.
