SIALKOT: Thousands of people made a human chain on Thursday on the Kashmir Day here to express solidarity with the people of held Kashmir.

In Sialkot, the activists of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Shabab-i-Milli also took out a procession followed by a big public meeting at the Allama Iqbal intersection where JI Parliamentary Leader Sahibzada Tariqullah Khan spoke.

He demanded that the world community ensure the resolution of the Kashmir issue along the line of the Scotland plebiscite. In Daska, a procession by the Jamat-i-Ahle Sunnah from Millaad Chowk to Rest House Chowk chanted anti-India slogans.

GUJRAT: Like Sialkot, the people of Gujrat and Bhimbher district of Azad Kashmir formed a human chain in Chariaola area.

PML-N MNA Chaudhry Abid Raza Kotla with his MPA brother Chaudhry Shabir Raza and Bhimbher Deputy Commissioner Mirza Arshad Jarral were present.

The participants with Pakistan and Azad Kashmir flags chanted slogans in favour of the Kashmiri freedom-fighters.

Mr Kotla said that by marking the Kashmir Day, the Pakistani nation had made it clear to the international community that they were with the Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom from the Indian occupation.

The JI also organised a conference at the Gujrat Press Club where District PPP President Sameena Pagganwala said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto had always advocated the Kashmir cause at international forums and it was due to the efforts of the PPP that the issue of Kashmir got the world attention.

JI district emir Dr Tariq Saleem stressed the Pakistan government to launch an aggressive diplomatic campaign to highlight the Kashmir issue.

Former PML-Q MPA Khalid Ghural, PTI’s Afzal Gondal, Saeed Shah Gujrati and Dr Afzal Chaudhry spoke.

BAHAWALPUR: Three processions were taken out in the Bahawalpur city.

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam procession began from Chowk Khatm-i-Nubawat and concluded at Farid Gate. Allama Shaqatur Rehman led it.

The JI took out a procession, led by its district emir Dr Muhammad Ashraf, from Masjid Al-Haq to Farid Gate.
Another procession by JI women activists also paraded on the same route.

Speakers pledged to continue their political and moral support to the people of Kashmir and condemned the atrocities on them by Indian forces.

OKARA: Several Kashmir Day processions were taken out across the district.

In the Okara city, banned Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation activists took out a procession with banners and placards in favour of the Kashmiris from Dipalpur Chowk to Gole Chowk.

Abu Ihsaan, Moazzam Chaudhry and Dr Zaeemuddin Lakhvi addressed the participants. Dozens of JI workers also arranged a rally which was addressed by Dr Rizwan and Rao Jamil.

Similar events were also arranged in Dipalpur, Renala Khurd and Hujra Shah Muqeem.

SHEIKHUPURA: Rallies and procession were taken out on major roads of the city by the public.
