KARAK/KOHAT: Two customs officials Abdul Wahab and Hidayatullah, who along with their two other colleagues were gunned down in a militant attack on Hangu road in Kohat, were laid to rest in Nari Panos area of Karak district on Wednesday.

The bodies of customs inspector Abdul Wahab and constable Hidayatullah were sent to their native towns in Karak district where they were laid to rest in Nari Panos area. A large number of people attended the funeral prayers.

Earlier, four customs officials were killed and three injured when terrorists opened fire on their vehicle on Hangu road near old Tableeghi Markaz in Kohat on Tuesday night.

The CID department, which had been handed over the case, told Dawn that according to eyewitness Mosam Khan, a security guard at Wahab CNG, some armed men came to the filling station and snatched their weapons and manhandled them. While going back they started indiscriminate firing at the vehicle of customs officials who were standing at the road. As a result, inspector Abdul Wahab of Karak, constable Shamim Iqbal of Shakardarra, and constables Hidayatullah of Karak and Mohammad Hafeez of College Town died on the spot.

The injured constables Hukam Khan, Abdul Wahab and Mohammad Wahab were taken to hospital.

The CID police have registered the case against unknown miscreants.
