KARACHI: The Sindh government initiated an inquiry into the killing of two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers following a meeting held here on Friday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair.
“Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has established a judicial commission to probe the murder of two MQM workers, Sohail Ahmed and Faraz Alam,” reads a statement issued by the CM House.
The commission would be headed by a retired judge of the Sindh High Court, Ghulam Sarwar Korai, who would submit his report within 10 days, it said.
Faraz Alam died in the custody of the Khokhrapar police under mysterious circumstances earlier this month.
Sohail Ahmed, who had been missing since Dec 15 last year from Ferozabad, was found shot dead in the Mochko area on Tuesday and identified on Wednesday as an MQM worker.
