LAYYAH: A 35-year-old woman was mauled by a pack of stray dogs in Choubara tehsil’s Nawankot area about 50 kilometres from here on Wednesday.
Sarwar Mai, 35, of Basti Sittarwali of desert union council Nawankot, was collecting fodder from gram fields when five stray dogs attacked her and mauled her to death.
An eyewitness, Muhammad Farooq, told Dawn the face of the woman was ripped apart by the dogs and her dead body was found in four pieces.
Sarwar Mai married 18 years ago but separated from her husband and had been residing with her parents for the last 15 years.
Stray dogs are found in large numbers in the district and social workers often complain to the TMA and demand their elimination.

Dogs are pack animals. When they live in association of people or human beings they are good pets. When they can not live and taken care by people, they return to wild and form packs by their instinct for hunting as their ancestors- the wolves do. The dogs need to be managed and taken care by the people so that they may not return to wild and form packs by their natural instinct for hunting. It is sad that women was mauled and killed. And now the dogs will be killed because people did not ménage the dogs properly and humanely and they returned to wild instinct when in packs.

How sad! These dogs must be rabbied as well. So the Gov't needs to take action and catch and euthanize these dogs otherwise there will more similar attacks.

First time we hear that a woman in full health is killed by a pack of stray(????) dogs. Either it must be wild dogs or wolves to do this(but do wild dogs/wolves exist in pakistan?). Now, too many innocent dogs are going to be eliminated. Sad.

More like the killer gave the parts to the dogs and made up the story.
