Pakistani pop-rock band Strings and veteran Indian rockers Euphoria had a face off in a music battle in front of a crowd that exceeded 2000 people at the Red Bull Soundclash which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on November 28.

The hosts for the night were Pakistani singer and actor Fakhr-e-Alam and Indian music radio station City 101.6's RJ Siddharth Vohra.

After four rounds of musical exchange and before the results were announced based on how much the crowd cheered and applauded, Euphoria's Dr Palash Sen and Strings' Bilal Maqsood mutually decided to call off the announcement, describing music as a universal language and a unifying platform transcending all differences.

According to The National, Sen said: "Music can do what no amount of politics or diplomacy can do. It unites people. That’s what it’s doing today.”

“And that’s why the only winner today is you guys," Maqsood added, addressing the cheering crowd. "All of you who came to the concert today and who cheered for both Strings and Euphoria, whether you are from India or from Pakistan.”

Euphoria's full line up then made its way to join Strings on the stage for a finale that enthralled spectators.
