Avery interesting show titled Dance Democracy presented by Mani Chao and Theatre Group drew quite a bit of crowd recently to the Arts Council Karachi.

The programme was divided into sections, the first of which was to do with classical forms of dance such as katha and the other with folk and Sufi styles.

Renowned performing artistes Nighat Chaudhry, Suhaee Abro, Adnan Jahangir, Mani Chao and Mohsin Babar took part in the event.

All of their performances were very well received, especially Suhaee Abro’s interpretation of Mein Sufi Hun.

More of such stuff should happen on a regular basis because dance as an art form is not given enough importance in our part of the world.
