Irum Farooque rejoins MQM

Published October 20, 2014

KARACHI: Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Irum Azeem Farooque on Monday announced her decision to rejoin Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), weeks after she had quit the party citing presence of groups looking after their own interests.

Talking to DawnNews, Farooque said she had reconsidered her decision after Altaf Hussain assured her of 'action' against opportunist elements within the party.

Earlier in September, Farooque had announced her resignation on Twitter, saying she could not work with “opportunist people who are destroying my party”.

“Just to let everyone know that I have finally resigned from my post and also leaving the party for good,” she had tweeted.

However, Farooque had said that she would remain loyal to MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
