This is the culture of our POLITICAL PARTIES, same like the MAFIA or CRIME SYNDICATE, once you join you can never get out, STAY LOYAL OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCE

She must be threatened by MQM and consequently rejoins.

MS Irum Farooque - you are true to the salt, learnt MQM modus operandi really well. Leave the party today, rejoin it tomorrow, make u-turn, no qualm.

same drama that MQM plays at the party level, now being practiced at the individual level.

However, Farooque had said that she would remain loyal to MQM chief Altaf Hussain... wish if you were more loyal to the country you belong rather than the party and the party chief..what has she learned from this resignation.There is one way in and no way out...A resignation is a grave act; never performed by a right minded man without forethought or with reserve.

So some people do commit the same mistake twice.

PPP has Bilawal and MQM has Altaf Bhai. The leaders who can neither lead nor leave. This man has no hope of returning to Pakistan ever. Saw last night's press conference and fake indignation of the top leadership about disrespect of their main man. Among the political grievances of this party disrespectful remarks about their leader should merit no time nor mention. These were probably included on the insistence of the "he who must be feared". Respect can only be earned through our thoughts and action. Mr. Hussain has done nothing to earn it in the last 20 years.

Her brother in law was recently killed in Karachi after she'd left MQM! This is really fishy. I suspect force behind her recent decision.

She learned from the best of the best in terms of resigning / rejoining. Cant wait to read her incoherent tweets again!!!

Well let me remind you all: MQM has expelled about 2000 workers for violating party decipline about 15 years ago and all the names of those workers were posted on Jhangg news paper. No other has done at this magnitude to keep the needed decipline. Also, the MQM workes if they leave by their on own, 99.99 percent don't join any party. Now you all of you look around and ask yourselves, how many such parties you have in Pakistan. Yes: NONE. Sure there is room for improvement which is nature of such big parties. So please be united and say the truth at any coast. Best regards to each and everyone of you!

Forget about the status quo parties, they do not want to hold accountable their corrupt leaders & fathers, who openly exercise nepotism. Nepotism is the root cause of all evils in Pakistan, because it has brought down merit & quality, and has not put the family members or friends to the same standards others have to meet. If a Doctors, bureaucrat's, or a General's son become the same down the road, it is not nepotism, because it does not happen just due to the influence of parents alone , it also requires passing series of examinations, or competitive examinations, like anybody else, it requires proving yourself like everyone else. You still have to meet the minimum requirement like anyone else, & then you may use a strong referral from someone you know. Strong referral like father being a top physician may matter, even in America, but the accept your reference only after you proved yourself to be be in the 90 or higher percentile.

@azar Once a person leaves the party, its not the same. In politics its about trust & public perception. Look what happened to Hashmi, people of his constiuency lost trust in him. Look at Senior VP of PTI, left PPP (never went back to PPP), Now he is soaring high with PTI. Lesson: Once you leave the party, you should stay away for good.

Excellent decision by Irum. MQM has lot of potential and they have proven it by changing Karachi in Musharraf era. All they need a break, an authority to make decisions, I am pretty sure they can change the path of Pakistan toward success, prosperity and stability.

so far there is not a single leader in mqm who has quit the party and stayed alive! this is a 30 year record...

There is a saying you can enter some org but cannot leave it, stand correct in MQM case.
