KARACHI: Pugilists from across the country will show their prowess when the three-day All Pakistan boxing tournament takes place at the KPT Sports Complex from Oct 17, Sindh Boxing Association secretary Asghar Baloch said on Friday.
According to him, two teams from Sindh and one each from Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Fata, Railways, Army and Navy will feature in the contest.
He said SBA has chalked out series of other events in the province to tap talent.
The official said the programme envisaged organising spring coaching camp in all the five districts of the city from Sunday followed by Karachi beach boxing event on Oct 12, two-day Liaquat Ali Khan Cup boxing on Oct 16 and 17, three-day all-Sindh Anti Narcotics boxing tournament at Mirpurkhas from Oct 22, all-Karachi Allama Iqbal boxing tournament on Nov 8 and 9 and three-day national under-14 boxing at Hyderabad from Nov 18.
Asghar Baloch said two pugilists from Lyari – Nadir and Amir Khan – are part of the six-member Pakistan boxing team that is currently featuring in the Incheon Asian Games.
