GWADAR: At least 11 people were killed in a clash between militants of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) and their rivals in Balgitar area near Hoshab in Kech district on Sunday.

“Heavy weapons were used in the fighting. But the cause of the bloodshed could not be ascertained,” Turbat Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Khosa told Dawn.

The deceased were identified as Mir Yaqoob, Mullah Fazil, Mohammad Zaman, Malang, Badal Khan, Aslam, Bakhtiyar, Barkat Ali, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Jan and Saleem.

Calling from an unspecified place, BLF spokesman Gohram Baloch told a Balochi TV channel that his organisation was behind the killings.
