LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has unearthed an illegal gateway exchange in Gujrat.

According to officials, the team raided a house in Gujrat and detected illegal exchange comprising three gateways, DSL routers, hundreds of SIMs, desktop PC and a laptop.

“The raids against grey operators have been made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer because of grey traffickers in the country,” a PTA spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the FIA immigration arrested three passengers at the airport who arrived here on fake documents.

Naeem Abbas and Muhammad Shafique and Asif Iqbal returned from Saudia and Dubai. A case has been registered against them.
