BADIN/SANGHAR: Most parts of Badin and Sanghar received a moderate to heavy downpour on Tuesday.

It has been raining in the two districts for three days but the fresh spell appears to be the heaviest and most widespread.

In Badin district, low-lying areas of Badin city, Tando Bago, Talhar, Pangrio, Khoski, Matli and Golarchi were inundated and people were facing great hardship in moving from one place to another.

Intermittent rainfall and flooding of fields damaged tomato, paddy and some other crops.

Sanghar district received around three-hour-long spell of heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon after intermittent light showers over a couple of days.

The fresh spell dealt a crippling blow to the drainage system in Sanghar city as most roads and lanes turned into lakes.

Life in the city was paralysed due to a halt to the movement of vehicular traffic, closure of essential commercial outlets and an electricity outage.

Similar were the conditions in the rain-hit towns of Shahdadpur, Shahpur Chakar, Khadro and Sinjhoro.
