ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) president Javed Hashmi on Sunday addressed a press conference and called on the PTI chief Imran Khan to leave Parliament House.

Hashmi clarified the position on his differences with the party chief saying: “Imran Khan had assured the party of not moving ahead towards the Prime Minister House...until Shaikh Raheed brought a message with someone".

Imran then said that the situation required us to move forward, to which “I had differences”, Hashmi said.

He also said that the party was against the decision of moving towards the PM House.

Hashmi said he would rejoin his leader as soon as Imran would get the protesters out of Parliament House.

Also read: Hashmi leaves sit-in to protest PTI’s joining forces with PAT

Hashmi has unhappy over his party’s decision to join hands with PAT because he feared it could lead to a violent situation.

Hashmi is of the view that the army should not be dragged in politics no matter who had asked it to become a facilitator.

Hashmi has betrayed PTI , Imran Khan and the cause for justice at its crucial moment.

Khalid Aug 31, 2014 03:40pm

It is clear that this drama is scripted and someone is controlling it behind the curtain. I think Imran Khan would now stand on his container and start abusing Mr. Hashmi.

Nessar Aug 31, 2014 03:41pm

This Hashmi guy is useless. He is not faithful to anyone. Imran it's best if you kick this lot a out of PTI once and for all!

Imran Aug 31, 2014 03:42pm

Did Hashmi think the same when PML-N attacked on Supreme Courts???

Wachucha Aug 31, 2014 03:44pm

He should be removed from the position of President of PTI for keep creating differences on petty issues. These kind of disgruntled members remain a big liability for any political party.

Rehan179 Aug 31, 2014 03:46pm

So now no one would comment on this eh !!? ... PTI in itself was torn to take such action ! ... i hope all people come to their senses !

Atta Aug 31, 2014 03:47pm

You are not fit for a revolution Mr Hashmi. You better stay at home.

Arsh Aug 31, 2014 03:49pm

This again shows ego of IK who does not listen to his own peers like Hashmi and Shah Mehmood. Instead he is get dictation from Sheikh Rashid and qadri.

zain Aug 31, 2014 03:52pm

Javed hats off for you, truth has come out.IK you are biggest liar now you should resign from PTI chairmanship.Hashmi conference has shown your dictatorship attitude.Correct yourself first and then build naya Pakistan.Say alltogether Go IK Go go TUQ go.

Maverick Aug 31, 2014 03:53pm

Hence everyone knows now who is driving Imran Khan . The whole scrript was written and preplanned . Shame on u qadri and Ik

ghuman Aug 31, 2014 03:58pm

Mr hashmi you left imran about 10 times.every time he is proven right, you are back.

Dilectus Aug 31, 2014 03:59pm

This man is done. He wants to go back to N-League, he should not be denied. Leaves party every time the situation is tough. He should form his own party and become its Chairman, that is the only way he can do whatever he wants. He supports sit-in but can not stay in sit-in. Supports agitation but can not be a part of it. He wants PTI supporters to sit their for eternity and rot knowing his leader Nawaz won't resign.

Aslam Shaikh Aug 31, 2014 04:03pm

Mr. Hashmi is a true politician. He saw the grass greener on the other side and jumped boats!

Azad Khial Aug 31, 2014 04:04pm

I would love to hear comments from PTI supporters now on the "democratic" credentials and integrity of their hero IK. Who is he taking his marching orders from?

Let's also salute Javed Hashmi's courage to speak the truth in this most unfortunate situation and hope that sense prevails to pull Pakistan back from the brink.

MA Aug 31, 2014 04:06pm

Even if you were not happy with some of your Leader decisions, you should have highlighted that in house and not on media.

Ahsan Aug 31, 2014 04:11pm

Jared Hashmi is not a liar. He is a brave person who has sacrificed more than anybody for democracy in the present setup. Imran we demand an honest explanation.

Tareen Aug 31, 2014 04:14pm

There it comes, message from whom??????? And the answer is............... everyone knows

Shuaib Bhat Aug 31, 2014 04:14pm

He even said that Imran Khan is responsible for the safety of his followers.

Shuaib Bhat Aug 31, 2014 04:15pm

He even said Imran Khan broke the agreement with the Government AND his OWN Party and had ASSURED the Party AND Javed Hashmi he would NOT join PAT.

zulfiqar Aug 31, 2014 04:17pm

Hashmi is Respected Person weather He is in PTI or Not..

tayyaba Aug 31, 2014 04:20pm

javaid hashmi is a true democratic person.

Z Khan Aug 31, 2014 04:21pm

Imran Khan has been stabbed in the back this time by a guy who openly declared Nawaz Sharif his leader on the floor of the house. Hashmi sahab nobody was expecting this from you. I don't know how much this statement is going to hurt IK but it seems PTI in its simplicity allowed a PMLN mole in its midst for which they will have to pay dearly. IK should also be wary of characters like Sheikh Rasheed and the old politicians who joined him after October 30.

Takoo Aug 31, 2014 04:24pm

One down, more to follow.... this was all pre-planned...here is how... Javed Hashmi was planted by PML-N, SM Qureshi by PPP & Jehangir Tareen/Shafqat Mahmood by PMLQ

People who support IK is because of IK not because of these people. IK should bring his own and loyal forward such as Asad Umar, Arif Alvi, Faisal Javed Khan who are loyal to IK, PTI & Pakistan.

Safdar Aug 31, 2014 04:37pm

Hashmi saahab and all those who do the old style politics are becoming increasingly irrelevant to Pakistan's electorate...Good luck with your ways Mr. Hashmi...

Zafar Aug 31, 2014 04:38pm

If you are not with us. You are against us. - PTI mentality

tinker bell Aug 31, 2014 04:39pm

Hashmi Sb should retire. He has played his innings and is a not important any more

Shehryar khan Aug 31, 2014 04:46pm

Prompted by agencies!

Shehryar khan Aug 31, 2014 04:47pm

The brave hashmi has stood up against the ill advice of sheikh rasheed.

RH Aug 31, 2014 04:50pm

I am surprised that IK has not as yet asked how much NS paid him for this statement. Isn't that they way thinks work for IK if some one disagrees with him he get suspicious of who bribed who.

salar Aug 31, 2014 04:51pm

Thank you Mr Hashmi for unearthing this conspiracy. After meeting with Chief, IK repeatedly mentioned that he is waiting for response from Army. I think Sheikh Rashid brought that response.

faisal Aug 31, 2014 04:58pm

PTI Listen to your president.

Just Someone Aug 31, 2014 05:00pm

Has IK served Pakistan by moving towards the PM House. Actually has he served Pakistan at all through the current sit-ins? Only time will tell, but currently it seems as if he is pushing the country into anarchy.

Azad Khial Aug 31, 2014 05:02pm

Pakistani's who support PTI (or PMLN) are all doing it for their love of Pakistan. When the goal is common, differences should be resolved by shunning emotion and examining fact.

Dear PTI, it's no use blaming Javed Hashmi for speaking the truth or asking if he did the same when NS marched on the Supreme Court. NS should have been condemned then just as IK's advance on PM House should be condemned today. If IK resorts to the same expedient tactics as those he criticizes, he loses ALL credibility since he himself claims to be better then the rest.

Naya Pakistan cannot be built on compromising one's ideals and principles so easily.

raja ( toronto) Aug 31, 2014 05:06pm

IK lost little creditablity left , no one can say drama is not scripted and director gives new script every day

shmanzar Aug 31, 2014 05:06pm

Hashmi is a sensible man and if Imran is not taking his counsel, Imran is making a mistake. I support Hashmi's way of looking at matters..

shmanzar Aug 31, 2014 05:08pm

@zain Supported

Ahmed Aug 31, 2014 05:11pm

Hashmi don't distract the cause. Go in hiding and come out when you are certain where the tide is.

At this moment, everyone to concentrate on the Constitution Avenue.

Adeel Aug 31, 2014 05:13pm

@amer Hashmi is the only man of his word in the entire PTI leadership.........

NHM Aug 31, 2014 05:13pm

Isn't Hashmi the same person who was sent to prison for asking Faujis to revolt against the Commander and Chief and take over the country

Yussuf Aug 31, 2014 05:22pm

Mr. Hashmi is doing childish deeds.Even if he had any reservations with policies of IK he should have told him.It is rediclous on his part to come on the media & do the things that he has done. The champion of democracy has already said twice since the 2013 elections that Nawaz Sharif was his leader and would remain his leader. How ironic?

Awais Aug 31, 2014 05:31pm

Mr. Hashmi now face the wrath of PTI followers for talking some sense.

Hamza Aug 31, 2014 05:39pm

Imran Khan and Qadri are liars and cheats...I am starting to get a hint that this is the army's doing..and I hope I am wrong because I have utmost respect for the army

Parvez Aug 31, 2014 05:41pm

Hashmi is more of a liability than an asset...........sidelining him would be smart. If he jumps ship he stands discredited.......as he is spent force.

Jabber Aug 31, 2014 05:47pm

Infact, this is good. now you know who is indeed with IK. hashmi is upset about his "seating-arrangement", it appears.

Fahad Aug 31, 2014 05:52pm

Salute to Baaghi Shame to Khan

Mansoor qadri Aug 31, 2014 05:57pm

I endorse Hashmi decision, but he should have not highlighted that on media. This gives rise to speculation that Hashmi may have planted by Nawaz to avoid IK collaboration with establishment.

akhtar Aug 31, 2014 06:00pm

The decision and steps to move into parliament was obscene and unjust. All peaceful efforts to gain momentum in eliminating Raj rule is gone for months.

M Saleem chaudhdhry Aug 31, 2014 06:01pm

Hashmi is man of no character. He had no moral courage to say that he differed with his leader Imran Khan but feigned to be sick to escape the action scene. Now he is trying to cook stories to regain his ill-founded image. Imran made a bad choice to pick him and put on high pedestal . He built his profile by joining Nawaz Sharif, himself a poor stuff, product of all sorts of manipulations.

Muhammad Khan Aug 31, 2014 06:05pm

Hashmi is a candid human being and a politician of principles. He always stood with democracy and opposed undemocratic actions. And this time again Hashmi opposed the ruthless dictatorial actions of IK. ik should stop now persuading his ostensible agenda

Muhammad Khan Aug 31, 2014 06:05pm

Hashmi is a candid human being and a politician of principles. He always stood with democracy and opposed undemocratic actions. And this time again Hashmi opposed the ruthless dictatorial actions of IK. ik should stop now persuading his ostensible agenda

imran ali Aug 31, 2014 06:07pm

to serve MNS ,he joined PML-N...he betrayed PTI at a crucial time......he acted like Trojan

Kamran Aug 31, 2014 06:24pm

Hashmi: "I will join with my leader" , he never said Imran Khan.

MZA Aug 31, 2014 06:31pm

It seems from Hashmi's recent behavior by leaving his leader at critical times as he has done now and before that he is a planted mole of the PML(N) to keep them informed and influence the leader's decision making at critical points. On one side he says Imran is his leader and then does not stand by him when he makes the decision. Imran be aware of Mir Jafar's in your side also!

Iqbal Khan Aug 31, 2014 06:33pm

this is total betrayal like to abandon your owns in battlefield. For such persons there is no more trust, even if they join their previous parties.

asgher Aug 31, 2014 06:36pm

Javaid Hashmi should not have made such things public because these times are very critical and any statement by someone from the inside can really hurt the cause. If he didnt agree with moving forward he should have left with silence. It was a dead sit in and people were shrinking and IK had to do something to make things moving. So he followed TUQ which was not that bad decision seeing govt not moving an inch in positive direction. Imran khan should not trust him again!

abbas Aug 31, 2014 06:37pm

@Takoo you saying imran has been dispatched loyal so far to asap umar and others u mention by giving priority to hashmi and other old politicians? Imran khan is no more than a puppet. And his followers are his puppets shame on Oxford for having a graduate of imran khan's stupidity

ibrahim Aug 31, 2014 06:37pm

PTI should remove Mr Hashmi from the party. This gentelman is not loyal and is playing a double game. Such turncoats are a big liability for any political organization.

Sheroz Aug 31, 2014 06:42pm

Afterall hashmi has been part of this system, including serving shareefs for 18 years, he still has some of their "namak" in him. He should have thought before joining PTI on pasha's request that PTI was anti status co, publics, noujawans and street power party.

Muhammad Aug 31, 2014 06:43pm

It's free planned script na waz show the courage before they come . Now ik supporter will use bad words they can't talk in logic. How they join after one year How all status quo get together sheikh rash I'd etc Why ik and quadri join with different ideogy. You are sitting from 17 days enough is enough got need to take strick action

Khan Aug 31, 2014 06:43pm

Thanks Mr Hasmi honest decision. You showed ik and tq truth

Ishtiaq Gondal Aug 31, 2014 06:49pm

@Nessar. Why Hashmi? Why don't they kick IK? I believe this would be a real change not only for PTI but also for Pakistan.

Pragmatist Aug 31, 2014 06:53pm

Javed Hashmi is and always was a member of a Jamaat-i-Islami. He was an implant in the PTI by the Islamists to achieve some of their goals in cad PTI was successful. Therefore, he is acting as instructed by his masters.

Rohail khan Aug 31, 2014 07:01pm

Hashmi,

you are clearly a liability. before PTI was peaceful and after you will still remain peaceful. It is now time for your retirement. take doctor's advice and rest. Your Job is done and you are no longer required.

pathanoo Aug 31, 2014 07:02pm

Javed Hashmi is the only one with the courage to call Imran Khan for what he is - Unpredictable, Unreliable, a Man who does NOT keep his word.

Syed Ahmed Aug 31, 2014 07:30pm

Dirty game. Peoples life, they are dying of poverty anyway!

Gaz Aug 31, 2014 07:30pm

He represents the past like Sharif brothers and Zardari.

Sam Watkins Aug 31, 2014 07:32pm

This guy needs rehab more than anything.

AdnanK Aug 31, 2014 07:32pm

I am no supporter of NS but I agree with all the points of Javed Hashmi. Democracy is a process, if the process is flawed then campaign to fix the process and not an individual. The right way would have been to remove NS in the next election while fixing the process. Sadly, looks like this won't happen. if army comes back to power then in own cricketing terms it will be innings defeat to Imran Khan

Jamal syed Aug 31, 2014 07:52pm

@Wachucha petty issues? Over 500 injured and tallest 4 killed because of this decision and you call it a petty issue?

zulfqar Ahmed Aug 31, 2014 07:55pm

Mr Hashmi is also part of corrupt political system, he has had it good for himself and his family, he has now passed his sell-by date and should give up leap frog politics between parties.

Asif A.Shah Aug 31, 2014 07:58pm

Ever since Plato, or perhaps earlier than that, anybody who has given thought to the state craft has said the same thing that the army's job should be to obey the political leaders. In this context, Javed Hashmi makes better sense than Imran Khan. However, it is lamentable that PML-N thought of making General Raheel Sharif the facilitator and the guarantor of the negotiations and its result. When Pakistani politicians will become mature and think that politics is about the service of the people and not about amassing wealth and clinging to power at all costs. If the Pakistani Army does not interfere in Pakistani politics then in the end things will settle down. However, there will be some cost to it. But if the Paksitani Army intervenes in the present day crisis then the cost will be much higher.

Abdul Rahman Khan Aug 31, 2014 09:06pm

Imran Khan's sympathisers (including me) had strong apprehensions when he accepted, persuaded or welcomed old guards like JH and SMQ, Assef Ahmad Ali etc. etc. in his party. PTI was and is still considered to be a party of new generation and a new crop of politicians. Entrants like Assed Umar, Saeed Murad, MAK Afridi are just a few names who are the real stamps of the party. When you welcomed the old guards into PTI - it was one mistake and if you chuck them out now or later, it will be mistake number two. Just brave them.

Ayesha Aug 31, 2014 09:28pm

The public seems to be extremely confused. Nobody is sending any messages to anyone, Mr Javed Hashmi is a fickle minded person, and bringing revolution is not his cup of tea. What did he think why the PTI and its protestors were sitting in the Red Zone, for a cup of tea, and he was not prepared that in case of any retaliation from Nawaz Sharif the protesters have a right to self defense, for him a little damage to the concrete buildings was more important than the loss of precious lives. And don't try to create suspense by making stupid stories, if the Army had any intentions to intervene, they do not require any prior approval of any person, nor they will be a party in the politics of both Nawaz and Imran. When the Army decides they take action on their own.

Idrees k Aug 31, 2014 09:31pm

PTI today lost the only real seasoned politician and the only real voice of reason and democratic norms today, they lost a guide IK will find out the price for this loss a little down the road, today their voice of conscience was fired.ALAS.........

AH Aug 31, 2014 09:42pm

Javed Hashmi has full right to disagree with his leadership. In fact, if he disagree with the direction of PTI then he should leave the party. However, what he shouldn't do is to speculate or issue statements from a different forum.

Raheel Aug 31, 2014 09:44pm

Hashmi proved himself a fake baghi. (Period)

Ayesha Aug 31, 2014 09:55pm

I can't say anything about what is inside Mr. Hashmi's mind, but both his pieces of advice look very sane to me: not marching onto the PM house and not joining hands with PAT.

Arif Aug 31, 2014 10:05pm

This guy should be fired! I understand differences can be created between two people. Even if he is right about Sheikh Rasheed advising IK, he should have gone to his house and kept mouth shut rather than defaming IK on the media. This also reflects his own personality..yeh kisi ka naheen hay (he is not sincere to anyone). Its a morale destroyer of the people who are on the streets.

Malik. Aug 31, 2014 10:18pm

well imran khan was clearly dancing on signals of his masters.

nadeem Aug 31, 2014 10:21pm

imran khan is a dictator in his own party. pti needs change.

bilal Aug 31, 2014 10:25pm

hashmi always was opposed by ALL of us in PTI. Only Imran kept him in. THANK GOD finally he saw it.. and THANK GOD finally it hapened!

Ghulam Abbas Aug 31, 2014 10:28pm

I have this theory:

The military is behind all three leaders. IK, TUQ and Nawaz.

The are playing two games: Divide and rule Command and conquer

90 % of Pakistanis do not have the same facilities and opportunities which are provided to the military.

This military industrial complex is the biggest burden on Pakistan.

The have created this strife so that the general public will not focus on the core issues.

The needs of the Pakistani people can not be meet, as long as this military is eating away this country.

Do not get me wrong. Pakistan does need a strong defense, but not this way.

I see two scenarios for the improvement of the general situation of Pakistan:

  1. Either these leaders come true and cooperate on putting the military in its place.

  2. The people really wake up and shun all of these leaders. Because once again, our leaders are playing with us!

Rafi Aug 31, 2014 10:38pm

When Hashmi criticized IK openly which he claims he did for the sake of democracy did he understand the consequences of his action. By weakening IK he has strengthened Nawaz Sharif whom he till a day ago considered the biggest enemy of democracy in Pakistan. Honest politics or lack of political acumen.

omer khan shaheen Aug 31, 2014 10:38pm

He will come back to go again the 3rd time?A very disappointing show of support by Hasmi!

usman Aug 31, 2014 10:44pm

Salute Hashmi Sahab for speaking truth! Shame on you dictator and liar Imran Khan.

marghoob ahmed siddiqui Aug 31, 2014 10:44pm

I think this was the only solution. Marching towards rigged Parliament was the right decision. Javed Hashmi has his past affiliations with Nawaz.

Rashid Ishaq Aug 31, 2014 10:50pm

Arif Alvi said Hashmi's concerns will be forwarded to IK and he will respond and then he responds "go away"

Ahmer Aug 31, 2014 10:54pm

Whose message did Sheikh Rasheed convey to Imran?

Sab Se Pehle Pakistan Aug 31, 2014 10:56pm

Good thing Hashmi is exposed todau. He was planted in PTI by PML-N.

Agha Ata Aug 31, 2014 11:02pm

If this is a real revolution, let it not look like a half baked, half supported street riots which only produce a few law and order situations here and there. Only one goal should be focused upon, getting rid of this businessman dictator, who is trying to surpass all military and feudal lords and become an emperor.

Dr Khan' Aug 31, 2014 11:25pm

Hashmi will be remembered as a champion of democracy.I hope his differences with Imran Khan are settled and he comes back.Otherwise he should go back to PMLN.If he retires and leaves politics it would be our collective loss.

NINO(USA) Sep 01, 2014 12:43am

Imran must resign from the chairmanship of PTI. He has failed to deliver the goods in KPK, the party stands divided, the violence at Dastoor is entirely of his making and therefore he is response for the casualties , he has become the follower of Qadri and Rashid, his dictatorial methods is ruining the Party and his arrogance has no limits.

Sajid Ansari Sep 01, 2014 01:01am

Good riddance!

Khalid Sep 01, 2014 01:35am

It would be nice if Imran practices inside his party what he preaches for Pakistan. And if he can show us a glimpse of Naya Pakistan in Naya KPK.

muhammad Sep 01, 2014 02:22am

IK agenda exposed, Sharif brothers and Ik playing with future of Pakistan for some one else.

Zm Sep 01, 2014 03:03am

Anyone who creates a situation for Army to step back into politics, can't a believer in and a friend of democracy. Sadly, IK has betrayed the same principles that endeared him to millions and sowed the seeds of hope for the future of our beloved country. I can empathize with JH and with the pain he must've felt to part ways with PTI due to it's policies that can only cause chaos and instability in Pakistan. There's no doubt about the corruption and selfish motives of NS and clan, but the one hope that motivated millions to work for the betterment of Pakistan seems to have been the light of an incoming freight train rather than the light at the end of the tunnel of despair for our beloved land.

Iqbal Sep 01, 2014 04:23am

Who is that "someone"?

zafar Sep 01, 2014 05:41am

There are only two sensible people left in PTI now, Assad Umar and Arif Alvi.

M Sep 01, 2014 05:46am

this guy showed his colours...it was revealed in the news that one of the main person to push hashmi in PTI was none other than the honorable Khawja saad rafique

Imran khan was very polite in tell hashmi he is no longer required after his betrayal. well done and in future make sure you pick and choose your people carefully!

Saleem Naushahi Sep 01, 2014 11:56am

Both of the are liars they change their stance very quickly TUQ a Canadian Citizen is working on his masters agenda IK has become tool of TUq. I see the end very bad for whole of the people of Pakistan

hina Sep 01, 2014 12:24pm

Javed Hashmi a true democratic leader...

amaan Sep 01, 2014 11:29pm

Being old in this business Mr. Hashmi should have demonstrated some maturity I.e. standing by to a decision made by his party. Leaving at the eleventh hour is also fine. But he should have maintained his party's respect.

Asad Sultan Sep 02, 2014 10:55am

Asad Umer said Ik eventually does what he thinks. Now he is lying as well. p.S Javed hashmi isnt Arif Alvi nor Shah Mehmood Qureshi he is the most credible politician in Pakistan

Sami Sep 02, 2014 11:33am

Hashmi's first press conference became the cause of avoiding Marshal Law by the armed forces.

SM ZAKI Sep 02, 2014 12:05pm

This old man has just awakened from deep slumber? When all this was happening why Mr " BAGHI" did not raise voice against this " Conspiracy". Will Mr " Baghi" tell us who was gen Zia in whose cabinet you joined. At this time all this was " HALAL"? Infact Hashmi has not stabbed in the back of Imran Khan but he has betrayed to those thousands of workers who are facing bullets and sate suppression at this moment. This is the end of Mr Hashmi's politics. the only option for him is to rejoin PML-N and hold the banner of Sharifs' allegiance. The damage Mr Hashmi has inflicted to Imran Khan will be repaired sooner or later but But his own politics is now taking its last breathe.

dr mohammed k khan Sep 02, 2014 11:49pm

Tell me if someone attacks GHQ what would be your reaction, peaceful dialogue or tit for tat? A vpilent mob attacks the sanctity of the parliament and you advise security agencies to not to receoprocat means lay down before the marchers and let them rollover the bodies of police and law enforcing agencies, very rediculous on your part to ewsolpve this crux in a recent meeting

Akil Akhtar Sep 03, 2014 04:39am

He has shown that the old crop of politicians if not corrupt are cowards at least.....
