Thats exactly how it is played in India too. :).. Toss with anything on the road that has 2 visibly different sides to it. A bicycles rear wheel as the stumps. If the ball directly goes into a neighboring house without bouncing prior, you're out. One who hits outside the compound wall, will go and fetch it. One bounce, one hand catch is out..so and so forth

Reminds me of my days in the good old days of 70's and early 80's. Wonderful memories!! We didn't even have night matches in those days but the streets, roads, wide compounds and grounds were so safe to play.

my my, i love the pictures, I am walking down the memory lane of Gali Cricket. It was fast, firece and at times crazy. Rain, hail or shine Gali Cricket never stops. I remember the best times to play Gali Cricket in 80s was during curfew in karachi when eveyone from the neigbourhood is involved and there are literey 3 or 4 matches palyed aong different patches of the road and Who can fortget the nasty neighbours who dont want you to play in front of thier homes. Just to add what about the night badminton in Karachi in winter hmmmm beautiful

All the pictures took me in my good old days when as a teenagers, we used to play street cricket in Lahore. We also used to play "Double Wicket Tournament" on weekend nights. Amir Sohail and Saleem Malik and others came to national side after playing street cricket. Believe me millions others outstanding crickerters could not get chance and now stories of past.
