ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif visited the Islamabad airport on Sunday to view A320 aircraft inducted into the fleet of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

He offered his support for making the PIA one of the leading airlines of the world and said he would like to see more Pakistanis travelling by the national flag carrier. He emphasised the need for providing the best service to passengers.

The prime minster had approved the induction of 14 new aircraft into the PIA fleet.

Special Assistant on Aviation Shujaat Azeem informed the premier that the airline was inducting narrow body, wide body and turbo-prop aircraft.

The PIA has ordered three A320 aircraft from the GE Capital Aviation Services, of which one has been received and the rest will come in July and September.

The Airbus A320 has a capacity of 180 seats.
