KARACHI: Pakistan now have the opportunity to have a major say in the affairs of international cricket after securing considerable concessions from the 'Big Three' India, Australia and England in the backdrop of the ICC's Annual Conference in Melbourne, Australia, DawnNews reported.

Pakistan will now receive the most in terms of percentage of revenue after the Big Three, from the ICC in the next eight years from broadcasting and other rights on ICC fixtures, effectively now making them part of a 'Big Four', the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a press release.

According to the PCB, India has officially turned the MoUs signed earlier this year with regard to six series between the two nations, four of these to be hosted by the PCB in the UAE or Pakistan with mutual consent, into binding agreements straightaway. The six tours are now part of the Future Tours Programme and are to be played from 2015 to 2023.

Another major 'achievement', as the PCB puts it, is ICC confirming that the president of the global body will be from Pakistan with effect from June 2015.

Sources say the agreements have been made possible because of Pakistan's non-opposition to India's N Srinivasan being elected as the new chairman of the ICC.

“The PCB had organized itself and planned to get maximum advantage for Pakistan cricket from an extremely precarious position. We have accomplished all our objectives. And I am positive that in the times to come Pakistan Cricket shall greatly benefit from what PCB has been able to obtain for it today,” said PCB chairman Najam Sethi from Melbourne.

any proof with mr. Sethi that ICC will give them more money? Any proof please? or Just lies,,,

As far as the president of ICC is concerned, it's an honorary post, all the powers lies with chairman... And the president post is assigned to countries in round-robin fashion, so nothing is granted to Pakistan. Sethi is just justifying his undeserved post of PCB chairman

Atif Jun 26, 2014 04:16pm

Another puncture our revelation of chirya

Mansoor Iqbal Jun 26, 2014 04:21pm

Good work Najam Sethi.

Random Passerby Jun 26, 2014 04:21pm

Looks like Sethi is maneuvering to become the next ICC chief.

Khuram Nisar Jun 26, 2014 04:22pm

Joke of the day.

Sarah1 Jun 26, 2014 04:23pm

With everything that is going on in pak, you are still talking of cricket?!! Talk of misplaced priorities....

suo moto action Jun 26, 2014 04:29pm

Mr Sethi himself is not sure till what time he is chair PCB. Neither India nor ICC is bound by any code of conduct to follow sethi. Let it me put it that way, What if india refuses to play......

Mr.T Jun 26, 2014 04:30pm

yaha bhi commission, waha bhi commission, har jaga commission...MERIT bhi kisi cheez ka nam hoa karta tha...

Lannister Jun 26, 2014 04:37pm

There is no Big four sir ! Its going to be Big three and backbencher. And you the first row seat as a backbencher

Anarchist Jun 26, 2014 04:38pm

Naukri pakki. lagay rahoo Sethi bhai...

Shah Jun 26, 2014 04:39pm

There is Big Three - there is no "big four". najam Sethi is just trying to polish him self up. The fact remains India, Australia and England will dominate this sport while Pakistan (being the second largest cricket nation in the world) has been left behind.

Shamsher Singh Dhillion Jun 26, 2014 04:40pm

@khan For people like you everything is a lie! Maybe its because you are so used to hearing bad news!

Mr. MR Jun 26, 2014 04:44pm

India has denied before and can do it again. Srinivasan has serious issues with the BCCI so I won't take his word since he doesn't speak on their behalf. Sounds like a desperate attempt to give some good news in tough times. They had one agenda though regarding M.Amir and what happened there?

AKA Jun 26, 2014 04:47pm

OK Bikao maal what after 8 years ? Big Three is not only about money where is Power ?

shiraz Jun 26, 2014 04:51pm

Sethi's chirya is giving another lie! I can't believe if anyone would belief this guy! It's simply TRUE LIES!

Malikpur - Janderbari Abbottabad Jun 26, 2014 04:52pm

Welldone by Sethi, I hope good things prevail!

Muhammad Anwar Jun 26, 2014 05:00pm

36th puncture in the works.

Ad Jun 26, 2014 05:02pm

So suddenly whatever we were criticizing India for in the past for being part of BIG 3 now is OK because we are in BIG 4 now? We are the most hypocritic nation in the world

Mohd Jun 26, 2014 05:04pm

Mr. Sethi is living in lalaland where he thinks he gets everything he wishes. He should be working on building a good team instead of making these statements.

azadi Jun 26, 2014 05:05pm

One corrupt nation supporting another where will all this end up nobody cares about sports only politics and money.

Rogers Evans Jun 26, 2014 05:07pm

Usual empty dream of Sethi. What makes him say that PCB is in big four ? He feels no shame when he says this again and again.

Rogers Evans Jun 26, 2014 05:07pm

Usual empty dream of Sethi. What makes him say that PCB is in big four ? He feels no shame when he says this again and again.

samad Jun 26, 2014 05:13pm

@suo moto action

We will simply clap... clap... clap.... Laugh.... laugh.... laugh....

M.M.Sherazi Jun 26, 2014 05:16pm

Regardless, of the title of big four, the most important objectives of the PCB officials should encompass the genuine efforts in bringing the international cricket back to Pakistan.

azam qadeer Jun 26, 2014 05:23pm

Just bluffing

Shahid Jun 26, 2014 05:31pm

Let's look at the legal documents between ICC, BCCI and the PCB before going any further. Are the six series' conditional to foriegn offices giving permissions? Is there any compensation attached to it if India refuses to play? Is the share of ICC revenue been promised through a signed contract? The post of ICC president is nothing more than an honorary thing with zero powers attached. Bangladesh got it now, Pakistan will be the next and then Zimbabway. But anyways, until the claims proved wrong, we must say well done to Najam Sethi.

Bharat Aks Jun 26, 2014 05:33pm

Congrats Mr Sethi... PCB needs more pragmatic and clever managers (like u) to administer the 'cash rich' body of cricket. Emotional hysteria and nationalistic rhetoric sounds good on TV (idiot box). It should not be dictating the terms of engagement in a business deal (whether anybody likes it or not, Cricket is as much a business as it is a religion in the subcontinent).

zak Jun 26, 2014 05:34pm

Sethi as PCB head and Srinavasan an Indian showering benefits on Pakistan-something smells very very fishy.

Salma Jun 26, 2014 05:38pm

It would have been in India's own interest to get Pakistan inducted in to the two powerful committees which they didn't. Apart from india's money might today, india is one against two in all decision making processes. Inspite of indo pak problems in general, PCB has always been friends with BCCI and supported them against the western block.

khan Jun 26, 2014 05:49pm

i bet by tomorrow, the real "Big Three" will deny this. any proof sethi?

asghar Jun 26, 2014 05:49pm

frankly a proof that, india was never the enemy as perceived to be. If we hadn't taken such negative view of india, this would have been the result first time around...Chillax guys, india if not a friend has no time to be our enemy..

Ek Brit Jun 26, 2014 05:54pm

April fool! Not yet

event horizon Jun 26, 2014 05:56pm

@Random Passerby If it is in the powers of Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Mr. Sethi can become anything.

amy Jun 26, 2014 05:57pm

Everything from 2015 who will remember Mr. Sethi. WoW

Irfan Jun 26, 2014 06:07pm

I donot care about Money . All i want to see Pakistan VS India Cricket Series .

Pak VS India matches have more entertainment than watching Barcelona VS Real Madrid or Australia VS England

Ajamal Jun 26, 2014 06:07pm

Well done Mr. Sethi. Our appreciation and thanks are due to you.

Gautham Jun 26, 2014 06:15pm

@Shahid : when you deflate the position of ICC President by saying Bangladesh and Zimbabwe got them, you are missing one crucial point. Other countries are still visiting these countries to play cricket, no one is coming to Pakistan. Cricket will get literally decimated in Pakistan if the current state of affairs continue. You are viewing Pakistan's position in cricketing world through the glasses of past, which is gone. You should look at little victories of Mr Sethi from the current context. Then you will know what ICC post is worth.

Safdar Jun 26, 2014 06:44pm

A true CEO of any organization would never give such an immature statement...

Arif Khan. Jun 26, 2014 06:48pm

Why is trying to fix another puncture by bluffing the Nation? there is no such thing as BIG-4.

Ahmer Jun 26, 2014 07:14pm

Big3 bad for the game of cricket but Big4 good for it. And we still expect the world to respect us for our principles.

sazo Jun 26, 2014 07:21pm

Few months back when he was out of PCB office strongly arguing against B3 in his famous show, now all of a sudden he become the strongest supporter of this move.

ivehadit Jun 26, 2014 07:29pm

This is all the sugar candy Mr. Sethi wants to feed the unsuspecting public - part of the plan to make him indispensible to the future of cricket in the country.

don't buy into any of it.

Mr. Sethi would be advised to spend his time getting our players more matches so they can be part of the big 8.

Helo Jun 26, 2014 07:33pm

Thank God this entertainment is TAX-FREE, or i would be bankrupt!

optimist Jun 26, 2014 08:15pm

Hope ICC and BCCI will confirm this. Great achievement by Najm Sethi.

Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad Jun 26, 2014 08:30pm

What a serious joke?

Sayyar Khan Jun 26, 2014 08:34pm

There are people dying daily. Army Operations going on in KPK, Baluchistan , daily problems in Karachi. But people care about cricket. WOW. When will there be an operation in South Punjab all these terrorist are in South Punjab

Atam Vetta Jun 26, 2014 08:39pm

Congratulations. Well done. Pakistan is now, indeed, the fourth member of the ICC big FOUR but celebrations should be muted till the promised matches take place and the promised money is in the bank account of the PCB. Then and only then, the fourth 'big' can celebrate its well deserved victory.

John Jun 26, 2014 08:52pm

@asghar Totally agree. There are elements who are simply live to demonize India. All wars were started by Pakistan. Most PCB issues with India are due to animosity rather than factual issues.

Faisal Jun 26, 2014 10:29pm

Nothing on ICC web site on this claim

aaa Jun 26, 2014 10:34pm

Sethi cant do anything good. Just getting crumbles and being happy i got something. Shame on him.

anuj Jun 26, 2014 10:57pm

Three gifts to Pakistan by bcci 1). Six tours by India b/w 2015-21 2). 4 largest profit share 3). Next icc president will be from Pakistan

shoukat Jun 26, 2014 11:12pm

mr sethi is just polishing things up a bit. there is no big four. its not about money mr sethi its about power. The million dollar question is will Pakistan enjoy the same power as that of big three?. Can Pakistan veto?.

Rizwan Jun 26, 2014 11:29pm

We have yet to see a Bigger layer then Mr Sethi!!!!!!!

Ahmer Jun 26, 2014 11:46pm

PCB is too small for the well recognised talents of Sethi Sahib. He should aim much higher, at least for the chairmanship for ICC after Srinivasan and bring a similar revolution about in the world of cricket.

Muzlee Jun 27, 2014 12:22am

ICC just confirmed that there was nothing like Big four discussed in today's meeting. Another puncture!!!!

Sunil USA Jun 27, 2014 12:58am

@Salma Well well what a turnaround. Do you really think if BCCI can come so far, dont you think BCCI has already have plans to counter other two ?

Masood Jun 27, 2014 01:41am

There is no such news on any international media (print or paper)

Awan Jun 27, 2014 01:54am

Four Wrongs doesn't make one Right.

Naveed Jun 27, 2014 02:24am

I have a strong feeling that is just making it up. Sethi is a politician. He has been rewarded for his loyalty to Sharif Family. He delivered them overwhelming victory in Punjab as an acting Chief Minister. Mr. Sethi is just selling deception and deceit with all its embellishments.

Far sight Jun 27, 2014 02:36am

Even if this Srinivasan did such a job... Indian govt. can cancel the matches... i guess Pakistan has been bluffed by this dubious Srinivasan so that he gets the top job.

Ozz Jun 27, 2014 03:15am

Typical when we were not in the group we were critisizing it.

qasim Jun 27, 2014 04:04am

Mr. Sethi again wants to be in the new for all the wrong reasons. This claim that he's making has no sad to see a seasoned person like him getting sucked in...

Sunil USA Jun 27, 2014 05:36am

@Masood The news will be there in Sethi's TV channel

Rajiv Jun 27, 2014 11:34am

Strange why no one noticed. he said pakistan is the fourth party in big three....

SRD Jun 27, 2014 11:38am

What is your contribution ti ICC any way... BIG-4 to be part of the league you have to be BIG first.. we have awarded you 4-5 series just be happy with that n keep mum

Vectra Jun 27, 2014 12:22pm

NO BIG 3 cant be said BIG 4 as said by dawn because none other than the BIG 3 have permanent membership in ICC Financial committee,Executive committee and Governing body.So pakistans position is at mercy of BCCI so BCCI will now indirectly control PCB as BIG 3 all the legal power in ICC is vested with BIG 3 which PCB is not part of.PCB in not a permanent member in ICC committee but will gain membership on rotational basis in 3 ICC committee unlike permanent BIG 3.

Sunil USA Jun 27, 2014 07:27pm

Forget What is said or not said , what is done or not done. It is good news at least we have a Ind vs Pak Series Let enjoy that

Pramod Jun 28, 2014 01:00am

Not Good for Cricket. Srinivasan is not a good man to held that post.

Asad Jun 28, 2014 03:06am

MoU: memorandum of understanding with no legal binding or contractual value a number of rich are signed each year for show each year with no result. As for a membership in the executive Council, it's like getting a temporary seat at security Council n telling the people that you got Veto power. Does he think that everyone in this country except his " Chirya" is a fool?

SK Jun 28, 2014 12:14pm

They have signed a memorandum of unity (MoU) is not a document legally binding and thus you cannot force someone to act according to it. This of completely useless!

Azmeen Jun 28, 2014 01:03pm

Good achievement though there is nothing like BIG 4.

Madiha Jun 28, 2014 02:48pm

Congratulations!! Keep going Mr.Sethi

Devil Jun 28, 2014 02:59pm

Don't believe in what Srinivasan says to you ... He will sell you just dreams and will fill his own coffers ...

And No, there is no "Big Four" ... God ! why don't you realize the reality of the moment ... your moment might come but you are minnows (in terms of money and not talent) at the moment !!!

Let's Face it Jun 28, 2014 03:02pm

Pakistan should make good use of this opportunity

ASC Jun 28, 2014 03:10pm

This is a myth, the two position offered to Pakistan and WI are temporary for two year, whereas big three have permanent position. after two years both pak and wi would be replaced. Najem S is a master of fraud and just soliciting cheap publicity.

Last Word Jun 28, 2014 03:25pm

Najam Sethi has proved himself to be a good negotiator whose skilful handling of a hopeless situation has turned defeat into victory. This is the right time for Nawaz Sharif who is facing so many problems to induct such a shrewd person in his ministry as IM or Foreign minister. I am sure that Sethi will do an excellent job and prove to be an asset with his better credentials.

Guest Jun 29, 2014 07:50pm

Now Pakistan is officialy the 4th circket bully
