Great. Let him face what he did. This is the only route cause of instability in the country but let judiciary complete its work if innocent (which not) then can go anywhere. All Tahir ul Qadri, Imran khan dramas are being staged to get rid Musharraf from his crimes but courts are independent what they decide he should face.

@Malikpur Janderbari Abbottabad The masses will and must rejoice this decision of the Supreme Court. He should not be let off the hook at any cost and must be punished for all the crimes committed during his period at the helm. Long live the judiciary.

I still believe that the present judiciary was the party affected by the emergency in 2007, therefore they have a bias in the case and this is evident from the prolonging of the case by both SHC and now SC ( 4 months delay).

Do those who are condemning this decision have the guts to come and guarantee his return, and if he doesn't return, then they will face the same charges?

Very good. Supreme Court taking responsibility of their earlier order and following through on it. Musharraf must become an example for all future dictators. These dictators twist and turn the country on their own whims and then leave the Pakistani people facing their consequences for decades.

What a drama ... first government says it is not their decision and they will let Court decide. When court decides, then government puts a plea in SC. Wow! Worst display of justice in Pakistan!

Fool proof injustice

These decisions and Live (but futile) dramas of TUQ prove that we have a professional Army now and has absolutely no interest in meddling into politics. I am not a supporter of Musharraf but I have the following observations: (1) If a person has been indicted but is not taken under custody, how can someone restrict freedom of movement of that person? I think there are some crimes for which keeping a person in custody is necessary after indictment. If Musharraf was not kept under custody, why is he being kept in half a custody (free to move in the country but cannot leave the country)? (2) Is SHC more independent than Supreme Court? Did Musharraf leave Islamabad and go to Karachi to take advantage of relative independence of SHC? (3) How can the present government annoy armed forces of Pakistan beyond a certain level? From what I hear on TV talk shows, armed forces of Pakistan want to see an ex-COAS not imprisoned or called a traitor. I am sure, military will be unhappy with PML-N government over appealing to the SC.

Great decision. Lets hope Commando doesn't get exonerated from the courts in the cases he is nominated in.

Supreme courts decision is just as expected. The courts in Pakistan are kangaroo courts. The judges have turned into politicians. So the next time the Army takes over the judiciary will be treated as such.

He should become more Creative now. There is lot of work in Pakistan. Just look at Dr. Qadri, He is very Busy. After all he wants to be a Political leader.

When will courts vacate stay orders issued in favor of Sharifs for the sake of impartiality? I am no supporter of Musharraf but justice must be seen to be done.

Negative decision for Musharaf was very much expected from Supreme Court, it is a fact that the Supreme Court of Pakistan is a center of injustice vengeance bigotry and discrimination, a place where every verdict given is against the law and charter. Judges in Supreme Court are the cronies of Iftikhar Choudhry, every decision from Supreme Court in last five years has been to the wishes of PML/N, nothing will change until all the present Judges are eliminated .

Exactly to our expectation the verdict delivered by the apex court. Justice is not easy to be delivered to the opponents of the sitting Government.

After watching all the drama of the last 6 to 7 years its clear that Pervez Musharaf time was a blessing for Pakistan.

@Munir Zia :Musharraf's mother is very ill,90 plus years of age,like most people in the world,Musharraf loves and care's for his mother deeply,possibly you have no awareness of people loving their parents and taking care of them,Musharraf also needs medical treatment for some bone fracture ,that is hard to operate on in Pakistan.

@event horizon It is simple. When there are reasons to believe that a person will not return, the government and court should put that person on the ECL. If five judge bench of SC of country thinks that too which is reasonable and logical in circumstances then one should respect that decision. He can stay free within country because government can get him any time they want ultimately.

@Naim You can find few more reasons. But law is on the different side. If Army gives undertaking in the court that Musharraf will return then court will probably accept (hope it's legal) but nobody is ready to give guarantee because they all know that he will not return.
