I am a PTI supporter but would request my leader to be quiet till this operation is over. If they are foreigners then there is no point of talks as their agenda is clear and so should we be. Go Pak Army, kill them all in their dens. Insha Allah you will return successful. Nation is standing by your side. Good Luck!

@Moiz Omar - agreed, Pakistan Zindaabaad!!

Wondering if the masses in Pakistan support the same operation. Can we have a poll numbers from Sindh and Balochistan from not so Twitter savy people. I will be impressed to see if 1% of the overseas Pakistani use twitter. Kudos to Dawn for making a news article based on 5 tweetes.
Jun 15, 2014 08:45pm
Pakistan has no choice but to finish them, at all levels, for ever. They are threat to the existence of Pakistan.
Jun 15, 2014 08:53pm
Our soldiers, our heroes............Godspeed.
Jun 15, 2014 08:55pm
Very good decision to act against these insurgents, eliminate them all and deal with them an iron hand. Military operations should also be conducted in cities where insurgents activities are common. The nation can't live a normal life and move forward technologically and economically unless these talibans are removed and eliminated. Talibans have disrupted the lives of common citizens of the country and removing them from our land would help the nation move forward and help people lead a normal life.

We all love our country Pakistan and have no doubt in the abilities of our armed forces. All these terrorist will be nipped in the mountains soon and they very well deserve it, they are and have killed our son's and daughters and crippled our economy and now it's time for them to run but we will hunt them down. Pakistan Army Zindabad

This operation is a must,I wish they spend less time coming up with these names and more time planning. Its going to take more than one operation, might as well get ready for #2 #3 #4 #5.I really hope this government is serious about getting rid of this disease we call taliban, hope the government goes all the way,I'm willing to bet other countries will be willing to contribute to the cause by extending monetary help.
Jun 15, 2014 09:05pm
Good bad or ugly is beyond the consideration now. Enough time has been wasted and pakistan has suffered huge concequences in all aspects, reputation has been tarnished/economy ruined , thousands of lifes lost, piece has been terrorised. Action should have been taken long ago but its welcome even now!! May allah be with pak fauj. Ameen
Jun 15, 2014 09:05pm
@Hazar Dastan Khan I am from Sindh & I assure you majority support "the operation" , btw which research encouraged u to claim 1% ????
Jun 15, 2014 09:08pm
@Hazar Dastan Khan 15 tweets actually and dont forget your medicine. :)
Jun 15, 2014 09:18pm
Compete the objective this time and mine the Afghan border. Cities are unsafe any way whether operation or not.

After Karachi air port attack by TTP a comprehensive operation against them was due. Karachi air port attack sent a message to the Government that outlawed have come of age challenging the Government's writ as per their choice. The Government had no option but to launch this operation to protect county's interest and at the same time to teach a lesson to them which they certainly deserve.

Jun 15, 2014 09:31pm
LOL @ this rubbish article. Twitteratis and 'mom-dad' social media burgers dont know what the operation is and how many times operations have failed in the past.
Jun 15, 2014 09:40pm
There are so many questions: First of all why Govt tolerated violent crimes against Pakistanis for so long? there shouldn't have been these militias to begin with, it's not about support or oppose, operation is the only possible outcome of all the violence committed against Pakistanis, but who is going to pay for the thousands of lives taken by terrorists?
Jun 15, 2014 09:42pm
All the way with Pakistan and Pak Army, Allah ho Akbar May Allah make our country and countrymen peaceful and prosperous, ameen.
Jun 15, 2014 09:44pm
I live in england but i love you pak army, now go and do what your best at....
Jun 15, 2014 09:45pm
The opinions shown from social media, are basically by the media & politicians only. Majority of the general public of course is also in favor of the operation also, but I somewhat agree with what Imran Khan has said, that the outcome might be suicidal, even disastrous. So I suggest that the bigger picture should be taken into account and spies of neighboring countries who are infiltrating the peace of our nation, should be dug out and wiped off for good. That might give better results. And whats with the twitter crap? Why has it become such an obsession with our politicians? Even terrorists are updating on twitter and attacking sensitive areas of our country.

Military Inc. should focus on defeating the enemies of Pakistan only and leave the economic and social well being to the political leadership.
Jun 15, 2014 09:55pm
Great decision of the government, finally! Need to root out these criminals/thugs completely.
Jun 15, 2014 09:56pm
I am. PTI supporter and beg Imran Khan to stop opposing and stand with the nation, army and the whole civilised world against these terrorist.
Jun 15, 2014 10:00pm
InshaAllah (God willing) the days of Talibans are numbered and all other hidden enemies of our nation. Pakistani people need to show the same courage and support that they showed in 1965 in Lahore !
Jun 15, 2014 10:00pm
This news has brought such a great relief to the hearts. How painful it is to see innocent people dying every other day. May Allah sends more strength to our armed forces, so they can totally eliminate all these evil people.
Jun 15, 2014 10:07pm
Fantastic, just ignore the fools like saleem safi, IK & Co.
Jun 15, 2014 10:08pm
@Hazar Dastan Khan I am a Sindhi and to me operation against TTP is no brainer. They host foreign militants, attack airports, schools, churches, temples and even mosques. They have no regard for our beloved country. So not sure who is complaining and why.
Jun 15, 2014 10:25pm
Good Luck Pak Army and this time make sure we capture or kill them all. They are kind of people who does not reason and only wants to force their paleolithic ways on people. It is time we lunch the operations and our current government should resign because they are not capable of making any decisions that is going to help our great country Pakistan. Pakistan zindabad and Pak Army Zindabaad.
Jun 15, 2014 10:42pm
May Allah help our armed forces eliminate the menace of terrorism, funded and sponsored by enemy forces, as swiftly as possible. It was a tough decision to start the operation in North Wazirastan, the center of all evils, but the failure of negotiations with the terrorists had made it absolutely essential. These terrorists need to be made fully accountable for huge loss of innocent lives and colossal damage to Pakistan assets and economy. This war is basically against a flawed mindset which had made the terrorists believe that killing of fellow citizens and Muslim and damaging Pakistan assets was a noble cause. This war can only be won if the whole nation supports our armed forces in this jihad against terrorism and all patriotic leaders need to extend their full commitment and support for this purpose.
Jun 15, 2014 11:09pm
I think first they should have cleansed karachi as there are hundreds of taliban operating there. I believe now Pakistan will be prone to more attacks. May Allah save Pakistan
Jun 15, 2014 11:12pm
@ Sharmila faruqi: something you couldnt do in your "mis-rule"
Jun 15, 2014 11:17pm
In complete support of our Armed forces. Time to stand up for our reputation and Velour. This war against enemy of humanity and State can't win alone by Armed forces and Police. We need to diligently search, identify and report terrorist within our files. Its time to raise our flag and show unity to our enemy and fight till be get rid of menace. Pakistan Zindabad !!
Jun 15, 2014 11:20pm
USA is so glad and will support every effort to weed out these scums eating into humane society
Jun 15, 2014 11:36pm
Who took the decision, at which forum, who took the nation into confidence - why Kayani kept delaying operation - a lot of questions but no answer. Are we going Sirilankan and fight till last terrorist or still play the old game - good terrorist or bad terrorist!

To succeed, the Nation should organize against the corrupt politicians. Zarb-e azb is being undertaken because the pockets of the politicians was getting effected. Once the flow in the pockets will be restored, it will be business as usual.

now religious parties must know TTP just used them for gaining time therefore stop talking of peace talks rather search their own madrasses critically to eliminate their sympathizer and facilitator inside before madrasses heads are caught.
Jun 16, 2014 12:47am
Long Live PAKISTAN and it's people , We are with you at all times !!
Jun 16, 2014 01:04am

The other half of the battle is to defeat tribalism, nepotism, corruption, and religious fanaticism.
Jun 16, 2014 02:31am
Good job Pak Army... Extremism and Terror must be dismantled to unite your nation and its youth to achieve their true potential and work for a better future. I am happy to see Pakistan taking small steps in the right direction to bring hope and peace to our region. Wishing all the luck to Pakistan in this initiative. Hope better sense prevails among the politicians who are still against this military offensive.
Jun 16, 2014 02:53am
While military operation is carried out in tribal belt, our cities and villages should be also monitored closely. Instead of watching the operation in North Waziristan, our police(if they are competent enough) should go after the banned terrorist organizations who are already involved in daily killings of minorities and other religious a groups. It is the only way the pot is cleaned in and out. These terrorist should not left in peace and should be followed until they are either apprehended or exterminated. May be then our team may be playing in the next World Soccer Cup.
Jun 16, 2014 02:54am
Sorry I am late, big thumbs up from my side. Best of luck.
Jun 16, 2014 03:06am
@Faraz I am not suggesting that TTP carry out any acts in any city of Pakistan, however had terror was spread in Lahore or Islamabad then Imran Khan and their supporters would have condemned TTP, but because most terror acts were aimed at Karachi and Balochistan it didn't matter to PTI.
Jun 16, 2014 03:30am
Thank you , Pak Army. We are proud of your achievements, eradicate them.
Jun 16, 2014 03:37am
Armed Forces better win this ! Imagine if they lose this war !
Jun 16, 2014 03:43am
All support for you Pak Army. Finish the job and return home as Ghazi. We salute you. Pak Zindabad.
Jun 16, 2014 03:56am
@Nuur Hasan - a voice of sanity. Military operation provides a space for a political settlement - what is needed now a back up political strategy - do we have that ready, my guess is as good as yours!
Jun 16, 2014 04:27am
I don't know why Pakistan is so divided and confused on national security issues. Pakistan should have taken this action long time back. On national security issues nation must be united. There is no ' if and but ' on such issues.

Jun 16, 2014 04:43am
@Aurang kill ALL the terrorists.
Jun 16, 2014 05:00am
Pak army cannot do it alone, especially in the large cities. We civilians need to step forward and identify any suspicious activity or terrorist that we know of. May Allah help us and our Pak army root out terrorism from Pakistan, once and for all. Aameen.
Jun 16, 2014 05:00am
Go Army Go and Eliminate these Evils. I am proud of you. Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad.
Jun 16, 2014 05:31am
A traitor is "a person who betrays a country by helping or supporting an enemy." Pak army, the people of Pakistan are not traitors. We are with you. And don't worry about what a few misguided parliamentarians whose egos have been affected say. We are sure you will take every precaution you can to avoid collateral damage.

Jun 16, 2014 06:46am
The whole nation is praying for the success of Pak Army & of Pakistan
Jun 16, 2014 06:49am
Kill them all.
Jun 16, 2014 06:57am
Karachi airport attack was the last straw that broke the camel's back -- it was the PR disaster for the Talibans -- the entire country is behind the government and the army to punish the Taliban for overplaying their hands and punish them hard. Talks should follow AFTER a good thrashing.
Jun 16, 2014 07:32am
Also launch Zarb-e-Azb 2 against their support base within our cities
Jun 16, 2014 07:38am
Kudos to the Pakistani fauj and the political leadership for finally summoning enough courage to take on the terrorist activity. Insha allah aap ise jad se ukhad phenke.
Jun 16, 2014 07:40am
@Hazar Dastan Khan Even if Dawn has made out an article on the basis of just 5 tweets, at least this time it is for a good cause. So let us support the publication rather than castigating it.
Jun 16, 2014 07:43am
@Fappy While your question at the end of your comment is valid, there are no clear answers for the same. As one sees it, that cost has been paid and borne by the nation in general and the families concerned in particular. And it is sad. Very very sad. But the action will prevent further loss and that should be the matter for rejoicing.

Jun 16, 2014 10:15pm
We know that innocent Pakistanis will have to pay the price of this operation. And we are ready to pay the price for elimination of terrorists from our soil. We are bracing ourselves for the deadly reprisal of TTP terrorists but our security agencies role is needed to protect cities like Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. Let's hope our army will emerge as a victor.
Jun 18, 2014 02:24am
TTP asked for it. Inshallah Pak army will clean up this mess once and for all.
