Al Ahmad named Kuwaiti PM

KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Jabar Al Ahmad Al Sabah on Sunday appointed his brother Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah as the country’s new prime minister and asked him to form a new government, the official Kuwaiti news agency announced here.

The post of prime minister was earlier held by Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah, who fell ill in 1997 and has had to spend long periods abroad for treatment.
