RAWALPINDI: An intelligence agency has warned that the Airport Security Force (ASF) training centre/camp office located at Kuri Road in Rawalpindi could be targeted by militants.

A senior officer of the Special Branch on Tuesday night visited the ASF camp office and found it unguarded and vulnerable to terrorist attacks as the security arrangements were poor there.

The intelligence agency also declared a public school being operated inside the ASF camp as a security risk and suggested that it should be shifted out of the boundary wall.

It said the ASF camp should be segregated by a perimeter fence.

The intelligence report, containing the details of the insufficient security arrangements at the ASF camp which houses more than 800 ASF personnel, was sent to the provincial government.

On the other hand, the bomb disposal squad, trained by the American experts during government of General Musharraf, has been directed to be on a high alert in the wake of the attack on the Karachi airport.
