KARACHI: Five bodies were recovered from two different areas of Karachi on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

Four trussed-up bodies were recovered from the city's Memon Goth area. According to the police, the victims had been shot dead.

The bodies, which could not be identified, were shifted to a hospital.

A body bearing torture marks was also recovered from the city's Zaman Town area.

Separately, a person was killed in a firing incident in Orangi Town’s Data Nagar.

A policeman was shot dead near Sindh Government Hospital in Korangi. His body was shifted to a hospital.

A Pakistan Navy man was also killed in Karachi’s Defence neighbourhood while attempting to resist a robbery attempt.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police, a serving navy man was killed on the spot after being fired upon by dacoits in Defence’s Khayban-e-Rahat area when he tried to resist the robbery attempt.

Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
