Lately BJP is slowly showing its old self. Past couple of years, it's motto has been development but lately since it's manifesto has been released, it has been Hinduvata focused. One says we will take revenge, other says will build temple, and another says anti Modi folks go to Pakistan. Looks like BJP's RSS and Bhajrang Dal roots showing up.

The BJP has already condemned this statement though during elections in India it is a free for all which all sections of society choose to ignore. In the run up to elections politicians prefer to be taken very seriously but the voters hardly take them with any seriousness knowing fully well that most of them are there for the votes and the goodies once they are elected. Modi is a balanced person and has contained the RSS like right wingers effectively. This is visible through the election manifesto BJP has published. It has the stamp of Modi administration.

It is unfortunate to read comments sympathizing with Indian Muslims, they are the second largest majority in India the fastest growing religious group, they are close to 200 million and are proud citizens of the largest democracy in the world. Partition in 1947 for the benefit of Muslims of the sub-continent has gone horribly wrong if we are to track events in Pakistan today, where even Muslims get bumped off for the most inane reasons fortifying the viewpoint why identity or religion based nationhood is inherently fallacious. To market their products and services internationally, they name the country "India". @rashad: India is not a very tolerant country for minorities and yet somehow Islam is fastest growing religion in India with the percentage of Muslims increasing from 10% in 1951 to 13.5% in 2001. Over the same period the percentage of Hindus in Pakistan has reduced from 22% to less than 2% (a portion of this can be attributed to the formation of Bangladesh). India certainly has its flaws but I think questioning its secular credentials is unfair.

Kindly inform Mr. Narendra Modi that we Pakistanis will not only welcome openly the Indian Muslims into Pakistan but also Indians of other religions. We are not as short sighted and biased as him and the people in his party. Good luck to whoever opposes him.

I think many of the comments are simply amazing. A single politician uses a third rate and disgusting ploy to woo some voters in his constituence and here some of us go reacting like fanatics or simply ignorant. India, by and large is a very secular country. The name is not Hindu Republic of a India. The current political wave is a reaction to Congress failure during the last five years to accelerate the growth of economy and shameless and rampant corruption. People are not voting for Modi because he is a Hindu but because of the possibility that he might improve job situation through rapid economic growth. Most of the educated Indians Muslims, Hindus and alike are flourishing in India and elsewhere. It is the lack of the education amongst Muslims and Hindus as well that keeps them at lower rungs of the ladder. Muslims, by and large are safer in India than even in Pakistan. More Muslims are murdered in Pakistan than in India. Count the numbers and you will see. So, let us not talk about partitions and divisions and encourage the continuation of the secular climate in India. See how the Muslims sites are preserved in India. How many Muslims are in top positions in India. Even the cross religion marriages are on the rise. As the economies and education levels in both countries improve, we will all be talking a different language.

Indias' present population is about 1.25 billions. Even if Mr Modi has support of half of the total population and after his victory if rest half of 1.25 billion people are deported to Pakistan as threatened by his comrade I earnest request Govt of Pakistan that as a good neighbor they should prepare in advance to welcome half of India's current population with open arms till another Govt comes into power in India. With all of our democratic differences people of Pakistan have sincere feelings, respect and best wishes for all the people of India as their neighbors, irrespective of their religious or political affiliations. There is no doubt that overwhelming majority of Indian people are best of humans of the earth planet. In spite of all the extremism and terrorism by the handful misguided, ignorant and hateful souls claiming to be Pakistani, in entire history of Pakistan never ever any Pakistani has publicly threatened that those not supporting his or her party or faith should migrate to India? May God bless the people of India and Pakistan with equal peace, prosperity and harmonious neighborly relations because the ultimate betterment of both the nations lies in the same.
