LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Khan Baig on Monday appointed SSP Afzaal Ahmad Kasuer as Sheikhupura district police officer against an existing vacancy.

SSP Kauser, who was awaiting posting, replaced SSP Humayun Bashir Tarar who was appointed Rawalpindi city police officer by the Punjab government against an existing vacancy on Saturday last. The government has yet to appoint new Muzaffargarh and Bhakkar DPOs.

Dera Ghazi Khan DPO Dr Abid Khan has been holding the charge of Muzaffargarh DPO for the last 23 days or so while Bhakkar SP Investigation Ameer Abdullah Khan Niazi has been holding the additional charge of DPO for the last six days or so.

Meanwhile, SP Altaf Ahmad Gondal, who was awaiting posting, was transferred and posted as SP Regional Investigation Branch, Faisalabad Region, and SP Abdul Qadir Qamar, awaiting posting, was transferred and posted as SP In-Service Training Wing, Police College, Sihala, against existing vacancies.
