LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority on Monday announced handing over possession of plots, carved on 69 per cent clear area of LDA Avenue-I, to allottees from March 31 after its governing body in a meeting gave a go ahead to the top officials concerned.
The meeting was held at Civil Secretariat and presided over by Punjab Finance Secretary Jahanzeb Khan on behalf of the chief minister, who under the rules is LDA governing body’s chairman.
Commissioner Rashid Mahmood Langrial, LDA Director-General Ahad Khan Cheema, additional director generals (Housing and Headquarters) Ammara Khan and Mariam Kayani, Wasa Managing Director Dr Javed Iqbal and representatives of provincial housing and physical planning department attended the meeting.
The body also decided to grant building period to owners of these plots for three years up to March 30, 2017. The applicants seeking possession of their plots will have to deposit 10,000 per kanal as processing fee.
The defaulters, who have not so far deposited the remaining cost of their plots have been advised to pay the same along with mark-up by June 30, 2014, failing which an action leading to cancellation of allotment will be proceeded.
According to a senior LDA official, the participants sought consultation with the stakeholders over the proposed amendment in the building rules and regulations. “Once the consultation process completes, the amendments will be approved by the body,” the official told Dawn.
INCLUSION: The City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) administration has included state land retrieved so far during an anti-encroachment drive in the premises of various schools and graveyards.
Land mafia had taken over certain portions worth Rs200 million of land of various schools and graveyards.
