ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with various organisations will start a tree plantation drive from March during which 600,000 plants will be planted.

Member Environment and Engineering Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sanaullah Aman expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to initiate ‘Clean and Green Islamabad’ Campaign in G-10 sector on Wednesday.

Mr Aman said the CDA was applying all available resources to further strengthen the status of Islamabad as one of the most clean and green cities in the world.

The residents of the capital should also back the CDA in this regard, the member added.

The campaign's target is to accelerate cleanliness work in residential and commercial areas of Islamabad.

In addition to this the campaign will further focus on the infrastructure upgradation including sewerage, green belts, parks, play areas and other relevant civic amenities.

All the stakeholders including Capital Development Authority, traders, civil society, students and residents of the city need to be persistently vigilant about cleanliness and greenery of the capital. — APP
