KHUZDAR: The brother of a senior journalist was shot dead here on Friday, police said.

Ejaz Ahmed Mengal was going home from a market when he was targeted by gunmen on a motorcycle. He received several bullets and died on the spot.

An employee of the education department, Ejaz was brother of Riaz Ahmed Mengal, a former president of the Khuzdar Press Club.

Police have registered a case against unidentified killers.

Calling from an unspecified place, a man identifying himself as Goharm Baloch told reporters that his organisation — Baloch National Army — had killed Ejaz because he allegedly worked for intelligence agencies.
