SHEIKHUPURA: A girl was killed by her brother-in-law on her marriage day in Sharaqpur on Sunday as the accused wanted her to marry his younger brother.

Naila Bibi was in a traditional bridal dress while waiting for her marriage procession to arrive. Just then, her elder sister’s husband, Tabish, entered her room and opened fire on her, killing her on the spot. Tabish escaped while restoring to firing into the air.

The family said Tabish wanted Naila to marry his younger brother Asif but they had rejected the proposal which had enraged him. Sharaqpur police have started investigation with no arrest so far.
