GHOTKI: Four policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), are scheduled to appear in court on Monday for allegedly gang-raping two sisters in Ghotki, DawnNews reported.

The SHO of the Khambra police station in Ghotki, along with three other police personnel, allegedly kidnapped two sisters from a nearby village and gang-raped them.

Provincial Minister for Women Development and Social Welfare Rubina Saadat Qaim Khaani took notice of the incident after reports of the rape appeared in the media. She directed authorities to immediately arrest the suspects. Later, the Ghotki police arrested the accused persons.

The family members of the victims said they had approached a local court on the matter. Following which the court has summoned the police personnel before it today.

Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) strongly condemned the incident and called for immediate investigations against the accused persons.
