LAHORE, Sept 3: The City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) seeks the demolition of dangerous commercial and residential buildings allowing their owners to submit new reconstruction plans.

The decision was taken by CDGL’s high level design committee on Tuesday.

“Officials will visit such sites and personally meet the owners to get demolition and reconstruction works done,” District Coordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq said. “However, the owners are to get their new plans approved by the design committee.” The participants discussed 21 cases of designs of new buildings, approved 13 cases and rejected four. It delayed action on other four cases.

BEGGARY: The CDGL decided to raise awareness among the people to discourage beggary.

CDGL’s Social Welfare Department was directed to plan the campaign across the provincial metropolis.

The participants also decided to urge beggars to leave begging.
