KARACHI, July 29: A total of 13 new dengue fever cases were detected in Karachi on Monday, said an official of the provincial dengue surveillance cell.

The focal person for the cell, Dr Shakeel Mullick, said that 537 dengue fever cases had been reported in Sindh since January and 524 of them were reported in Karachi while 13 cases had been reported in the rest of the province.

He said six dengue patients had died in the city this year.

He said that 21 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of Karachi and 13 new cases was reported in the city on July 29.

However, 19 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment on Monday. —PPI
