KARACHI: Provincial Election Commissioner of Sindh Sono Khan Baloch was removed from his post and re-designated as Election Commission's Director General Budget on Monday, DawnNews reported.

A notification was issued in this regards after consultation held with various parties over the issue of delimitisation of constituencies in Karachi.

Several political parties had called for Baloch's dimissal, while accusing him of alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.

The parties had objected to the chief election commissioner claiming that transparent elections were not possible in his presence.

The service tenure of Sono Khan Baloch was extended upon completion, on the basis of his seniority.
