LAHORE, Oct 21: A woman with the help of her brother and mother allegedly strangled a man and deprived him of cash and valuables in Kala Khitai Road area of Shahdara on Sunday.

Shahdra Town police said the suspects killed Zaheer Ahmad of Kala Khitai Road and hanged his body to a ceiling fan to declare the murder suicide.

The police inquiries showed that Zaheer was staying at a flat owned by Asif after he left his house following a quarrel with his second wife. He developed acquaintance with a woman, identified as Chanda, and was planning to marry her.

The police suspects that Chanda, her mother and her brother, who went missing after the incidents, were involved in the murder.

The victim’s first wife had died some years ago and he had five children from his second wife.

The police shifted the body for autopsy to city morgue and registered a murder case against the runaway suspects on the complaint of victim’s brother Shabbir Hussian.

DIES: An alleged robber who was shot at and wounded by a shop employee during a robbery in Rang Mahal area a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries at the Mayo Hospital on Sunday.

Mochhi Gate police said Zahid Gull of Mehmund Agency was injured by employee of a shop from where he was trying to loot valuables.

ROBBERY: Two robbers approached Faisal and his family in Garden Town police limits and deprived them of some cash, three tolas of gold ornaments and cell phones at gunpoint.

Similarly, two robbers waylaid Atif in Shadbagh police limits and deprived him of Rs10,000 and a cell phone.
