LAHORE, March 5: Two armed men looted Rs100,000 in cash, a cell phone and saving certificates worth Rs5 million from the wife of a senior army officer on Gulberg’s Main Boulevard on Monday night.

The police said the robbers approached Shahnaz Sajid, who is a sister of former additional IG Dr Azhar Hasan Nadeem and wife of a senior army officer, and snatched her purse as soon as she came out of a boutique.

Two robbers stopped Muhamad Naeem, in Shahdara police limits, and tried to snatch his bike at gunpoint. They, however, shot at him when he offered resistance and fled.

Four robbers entered Sajid’s house in Bilal Colony in Baghbanpura police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.

Three robbers stormed the house of Haji Nawaz in Shadbagh police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.

Robbers entered Adil’s house in Gujjarpura police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs700,000.
