BUNER/KALAYA, Nov 30: Three militants were killed in a clash with security forces in Buner district while a soldier was killed in a roadside blast in Orakzai Agency.

Sources said that three militants were killed when they tried to sneak into Buner district from Swat at Elum Ghar on the night between Monday and Tuesday. They said that security forces were put on high alert on a tip-off that militants would try to sneak into Buner district for sabotage activities during the night.

They added that the heavily armed militants were asked by security forces to surrender but they opened firing on security personnel. They added that security forces retaliated and killed three militants in exchange of fire.

The killed militants were identified as Abdul Lateef, Shamsul Aalam, sons of Habibul Hassan of Pir Baba and Dawood, son of Fazal Wahid of village Koot in Gokand valley.

The bodies were shifted to Pir Baba police station early in the morning. A large number of people gathered at the police station for identification of the killed militants. Later, the bodies were handed over to their relatives for burial.

In Gheljo area of Orakzai Agency a soldier was killed and another injured in roadside bomb blast on Tuesday. Security forces were on routine patrolling when a remote controlled explosive device went off, killing paramilitary soldier Ishaq and injuring Altaf. The injured soldier was shifted to a hospital in Kalaya.

In another attack on a post a soldier suffered bullet injuries. Officials said that militants attacked Murghan area as a result one soldier received injuries. Officials claimed that forces retaliated and killed 10 militants. But it could not be verified from independent sources.
