GENEVA: The World Health Organization says Pakistan has confirmed 99 cases of cholera from across flood-affected areas.

The UN health agency says the cases cover the period from the start of the floods in late July to the end of September.

WHO says it was alerted by Pakistan on Oct. 12. It didn't immediately explain the delay in publishing the event.

Geneva-based WHO also said Monday that Pakistan has reported 26 cases, including 3 deaths of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever.

It says there also have been more than 1,500 laboratory-confirmed cases of dengue fever, including 15 deaths.

WHO says the floods likely contributed to a rise in cases of these diseases. The agency's top official is due to visit Pakistan for three days starting Tuesday.
