ISLAMABAD: The representatives of the Christian Community on Friday said some elements were trying to occupy churches’ land all over the country.

Reverend Jan Ghulam while speaking at a press conference at the National Press Club said the churches land were under the control of Christians for long time.

“We have decided to lodge a joint movement against it across the country. Moreover we will also move court for protection of their right of practicing their religion according to their will,” he said.

Reverend Sheron Nasir said that some elements wanted to create a situation of civil war in the country by increasing the differences between believers of different religions.

“We want peaceful Pakistan and will not become part of any conspiracy, but will not allow anyone to occupy the land and properties of churches,” he said.

They said the Christian community would soon hold a conference to decide line of action against the conspiracy.
