SKARDU: Two persons were killed and 15 others sustained injuries when a passenger van plunged into a ditch in Kharmang valley of Skardu on Tuesday, police said.

The van on way to Tormik Kharmang from Skardu fell into a ravine near Tormik village, injuring 17 passengers.

Two of the injured Mehdi, 32, and Ayub, 28, died while being taken to Skardu hospital.

Police sources said eight injured persons were shifted to CMH Skardu where condition of two of them was stated to be serious.

The other seven injured were under treatment in DHQ hospital Skardu.

All the passengers on board the van belonged to Tormik village.
