Gee Gee eyes hat-trick at LRC today

Published October 6, 2010

LAHORE, Oct 5 Four-year-old unknown bay filly Gee Gee will be on the course to complete a hat-trick of victories during the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse here on Wednesday.

Participating in the fourth and supporting event, the Jhelum Plate class VII division II to be contested over the sprinting distance of 900 metres, Gee Gee will be measuring strides in a large field of 14 runners.

Gee Gee's close rivals could be Coure, Lucky Grey and Bhola Badshah.

The feature and the fifth race, the Sohawa Plate class VI division III and IV to be contested over 900 metres has nine runners.

Going by the past performance and form shown in the races over a fortnight, it looks an open affair with at least five horses on chance.

The point is that speed is not enough for our purpose of selection. The horse which has shown the best form at a specific weight is the over all form horse. Judged on this criterion Mera Baba, Noor-e-Waziristan, Pearl Queen and Aie Tulsi come in to reckoning in the same order in a closely contested race.

With four to five chance horses in each of the five-event Wednesday's card seems competitive and may provide thrills and shrills to the connoisseurs. All races will be gone through over 900 metres.

The first race will be held at 200pm.

Following is the field and our selections
