Gold Cup hockey

KARACHI, July 18 Iqbal Qasim, National Bank of Pakistan's (NBP) Sports Department chief besides announcing an 18-member team for 2nd NBP Gold Cup hockey tournament also announced on Saturday the prizes to be given out at the conclusion of the event.

Besides reserving Rs50,000 for the winning team and Rs30,000 for the runner-up, the hosts will also present four prizes worth Rs5,000 each to the 'Man of the Tournament', best goalkeeper, highest scorer and emerging player.

PHF Vice President Saadat Hussain Naqvi will be the tournament's technical director.

The tournament commences at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore from July 23.
