CHENNAI, July 19 Indian hockey goalkeeper Baljit Singh underwent emergency eye surgery on Saturday after suffering a serious injury while training with a golf ball at the national camp.

The 28-year-old's injury is a blow as India, aiming to revive their fortunes after failing to qualify for last year's Olympics, embark on a European tour starting on July 24. P.R. Sreejesh has replaced Baljit in new coach Jose Brasa's squad.
