Nasir reaches tennis semis

KARACHI, May 27 Promising Nasir Mushtaq eased into men's singles semi-finals when he carved out straight win over Abbas Raza in the 12th Anti Tobacco Day tennis tournament at Karachi Club on Wednesday.

Second seed Nasir won the battle with ease 6-4, 6-0 and now meets third seed Adnan Khan who accounted for Vinod Das 6-3, 6-2 in the other encounter.

Talha Zubair Surmawala, 12, also moved into the juniors' under-18 singles last four with 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Sheryar Ahmed. He is pitted against top seed Adil Kohari in the semi-final on Friday. Adil registered 6-3, 6-4 win over Fahad M. Khan in the other quarter-final.
