ABU DHABI, Nov 23 South African pace king Dale Steyn said on Tuesday that Pakistan is due for a collapse and his team can still pull off a victory to win the Test series.
“Nothing has been decided yet on the declaration, but we are confident that we can go one-up here after causing a small collapse,” said the tearaway pacer who bagged four wickets in the first innings. “We will go back to the dressing room and will sit down to decide on the declaration,” he told reporters after the fourth day's play in the second cricket Test at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
“We won the Twenty20 and the ODI series too, so it would be fantastic to win the Test series and go back home unbeaten,” said Steyn. “The pitch has played true but it's not that easy to bat on now and we may get some turn and bounce,” said the 27-year-old Steyn who has taken 217 wickets in 43 Tests.
“We have never been in such conditions before, so we knew little about the grounds here. In that way we have done extremely well and the bowlers have toiled really hard,” said Steyn. “Hopefully the bowlers can recover quickly enough tomorrow and take guard and get opposition's all ten wickets,” he chuckled. “Paul Harris, myself and Kallis feel that something is going to happen on the last day.—APP
