Raza, Umer in KC snooker semi-finals

KARACHI, Feb 12 Two unseeded cueists were among four who qualified for the Karachi Club singles handicap snooker tournament semi-finals by winning their respective matches at the KC premises on Thursday.

Both the unseeded players - Raza Junaid and Umer Saleem - were stretched to limits by their opponents on their way to registering victories in five frames.

Raza overcame Manoj Wadwani 68-60, 72-56, 51-66, 45-82, 75-55 while Umer edged past Asad Kamani 02-73, 65-39, 80-77, 53-66, 65-63. Both are drawn to face each other in the Friday's semi-final.

Earlier, second seed Qasim Kamani and third seed Vishan Gir won their best-of-five matches with ease. The former notched up a 83-79, 78-64, 76-66 victory over Ali Majeed while the latter conceded a frame in his 91-54, 85-28, 48-72, 77-68 win over Faisal Essa.
