MINGORA, April 14 A qazi court on Tuesday ordered that all shops and markets would remain closed in Kabal during prayer timings.

The qazi court issued the orders on a petition, filed by a local resident Abdul Karim son of Ahmed Jan. Qazi Omar Ali accepted the petition for hearing and issued orders that all shops and markets would remain closed during Zuhr and Asr prayers.

The copies of the order were pasted on shops in Kabal bazaar. The qazi ordered that the directives should be implemented strictly.

Meanwhile, Malakand Commissioner Syed Mohammad Javed has said that soon after the notification by the president qazis would begin announcing verdict in cases of different nature.

He said that qazi courts would be also set up in other district of Malakand. He said that qazis would be appointed in other districts to decided cases in accordance with Sharia.

He said the provincial government was sincere in enforcement of Sharia and courts would be set up in all other districts of Malakand region.

JIRGA The Swat Peace Jirga has announced to observe April 16 as thanks-giving day. The jirga expressed joy over enforcement of Islamic Sharia in Malakand. The decision was taken during a meeting of the jirga with its chief Inamur Rehman in the chair here on Tuesday. The meeting decided to hold a peace march from Kanju to Matta, Khwazakhela and Barikot. The rally would be addressed by the jirga leaders.

Our Correspondent from Buner adds After the promulgation of Nizam-i-Adl Regulation by President Asif Zardari, Taliban stopped armed patrolling and remained confined to their camps in Buner district on Tuesday.

Taliban, who entered Buner from Swat through Gokand Kandow on April 5, are occupying houses of those residents of Sultanwas village who had taken part in a clash with them in Rajgalay Kandow last week. Taliban will stay in the district as per an agreement reached with the local elders.Sources said that Taliban were calm and remained confined to their camps in Gokand, Pir Baba, Batai, Sultanwas and Balookhan Derai villages. They also stopped display of arms and armed patrolling in the area, sources said.

The residents of Buner on Monday night fired shots in the air to express joy over the promulgation of Nizam-i-Adl Regulation in Malakand Division.

They said that the new law would bring durable peace to the region and people would be able to get easy and speedy justice.
