KARACHI, April 17 A bench consisting of Justices Gulzar Ahmed and Malik Aqil, meanwhile, disposed of as having abated three petitions moved by the late PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto. She had challenged the election authorities' decision to disqualify her from the electoral contest and membership of the National Assembly from NA-207 (Larkana) and a reserved seat.

Advocate Shazia Ahmed Hinjra appeared on behalf the petitioner's counsel, Farooq H. Naek, since elected Senate chairman, and submitted that the petitions have abated after the assassination of Ms Bhutto in December 2007.
