KOHAT, Feb 25 Two motorcyclists were killed and a passer-by was injured in a roadside bomb blast here on Tuesday night.

The incident was reported in Bahadar Kot area on Rawalpindi road. The victims were identified as Amir Bashir, son of the nazim of union council Togh Bala, and his friend Wajid Khan. The injured was identified as Mushtaq.

Officials said that a police mobile vehicle was crossing a CNG filling station when the incident happened.

The vehicle was slightly damaged whereas the motorcyclists were killed on the spot. The blast was carried out with an improvised explosive device (IED), weighing 15 kilograms. The apparent target of the attack was the police vehicle, they added.

The police cordoned off the area while the army and commandoes started search operation in the vicinity. Two suspects were also arrested, who were handed over to the special investigation team for interrogation. The local militants have increased IED and rocket attacks in Kohat and Darra Adamkhel after the Swat truce.
