KOHAT: Grenade injures two in Kohat

KOHAT, Jan 18 A policeman and a passerby sustained injuries when militants lobbed hand grenade at the front gate of Said Habib Imamabargah here on Sunday night.

Both the policeman and the passerby were injured by the splinters of the grenade. The injured constable identified as Mohammad Hanif was shifted to hospital. The passerby was identified as Fawwad. The condition of both the victims was out of danger.

The caretaker of the imambargah, Amjid Hussain, had been receiving threats during Muharram on his cellular phone. The hand grenade was hurled from the government girls' high school. Soon after the incident high-ranking police officials reached there and cordon off the entire area.

District Police Officer Abdullah Khan said that the entire city had been sealed and the attackers would not be allowed to escape.

He said that exemplary punishment would be awarded to them.
