PESHAWAR, Dec 6: A division bench of the Peshawar High Court on Thursday summoned station house officers (SHOs) of three local police station in connection with the illegal detention of a person.

The bench comprising Justice Tariq Pervaiz and Justice Abdur Rauf Laghmani admitted to full hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by a resident of Dara Adam Khan, Mubeen Khan, stating that his cousin, Khalid Khan had been in illegal detention since Oct 30.

Advocate Jamrooz Khan Afridi appeared for the petitioner and informed that the detainee was picked by the SHO of Bhadabher police station. He stated that when the petitioner went to inquire about his detention he was also put behind the bars and was released after three days. He said the SHO of said police station then handed over the detainee to University Town police station.

The petitioner stated that when a bailiff was deputed by the high court to visit Town police station, the detainee was shifted to West Cantt police station.
