ISLAMABAD, Dec 5: Pakistan is the only country which had come into existence in the name of minorities’ rights, therefore, the government is bound to protect their rights.

This was stated by the convener of World Minorities Alliance and former federal minister, Julius Salik, while speaking at a news conference from inside the iron-made cage, in which he had locked himself since the beginning of Ramazan to express solidarity with the Muslims.

He announced that he would start his journey to Lahore on Sunday. J Salik said he would stay in Faisalabad and Gujra-nwala before reaching Lahore.

Later, the cage was loaded on a truck with the help of a lifter. J Salik said the cage would be placed in front of the tomb of Allama Iqbal and it would remain there till the end of the month of Ramazan.

He pledged to continue his struggle for creation of harmony among the Muslims, Christians and other minority communities in the country. He said it was the moral duty of every Pakistani to keep an eye on unscrupulous elements for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
