Hamza Shahbaz takes oath as MNA

ISLAMABAD Hamza Shahbaz, son of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, took oath on Monday as Member National Assembly after his unopposed election from NA-119 (Lahore).

 

Speaker National Assembly, Dr Fahmida Mirza administered oath to the newly elected member, who later signed the roll of members.

 

Speaking in the House, Hamza Shahbaz congratulated the NA Speaker and termed her election a great achievement and in sharp contrast to the policies of her predecessors.

 

He said it is also the moment of honour for the people of Pakistan, who gave clear their verdict on February 18 and defeated the forces supporting the dictatorship.

 

The newly elected member said the resilient struggle made by my Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif is laudable and paved the way for the establishment of democracy.

 

He also paid homage to the late PPP leader, Benazir Bhutto, for her services in delivering people from dictatorship, and added that people still mourn her death.
